Vlog Soup: Episode 13
This week on Vlog Soup we start off with Boston Improv comedy group Hooray For Funn. Rich Pav walks to work in Japan. We sample Joi Ito TV. ABC News starts podcasting and discounts Rocketboom. We check in with The Young Turks, a Daily Internet Talk Show. Storypipe tries the news with jokes in front of a map format. Rynaldo Papoy is commenting on his countries political leaders. Girl with a movie camera covers the protests in France, up close. Port City PD brings high quality production values to a vlog police story. Aaron Valdez comments on media by remixing it. and Ze Frank single-handedly reshapes our expectations for what an intelligent news show can be.
Hooray For Funn is a Boaton Area improv group that recently started a vlog. Check them out.

Rich Pav is Herro Flom Japan
I recently bought a $400 video camera and a $400 wireless mic for work and needed to test it out, so what better way than to use it for purely personal reasons, right? It's almost like getting paid to videoblog.---I'm always interested in seeing what daily life is like in other coujntries.
Joi Ito calls his new web video project Joi Ito TV. In this clip we see him interviewing some people atr this year's SXSW.
---
On a recent ABC News Video Podcast they call Rocketboom fake and themselves real.
The ABC News Video Podcast has no blog, no permalinks, and no place for comments.
They are on iTunes and have a podcast over there, but I'd like to go listen to a specific show with my browser.
Checking out the source of the XML file I can grab the URL of the episode I want:

I guess it depends on what your definition of real is.

Daily Internet Talk Show
The first nationwide liberal talk show and first live, daily internet TV show, is a funny, smart, irreverent and entertaining look at politics, sex, news, pop culture, current affairs and personal stories. The Young Turks airs live M-F from 6 - 9 pm ET via webcast, on Sirius Satellite Radio, on iTunes (Radiopower.org), and on affiliate radio stations nationwide.---
Storypipetries the news with jokes in front of a map format.
---
Rynaldo Papoy sent in an email asking to add him to the soup. He seems to be commenting on his countries political leaders.
---
Girl with a Movie Camera covers the protests in France, up close.
---
Port City PD brings high quality production values to a vlog police story.
---
Aaron Valdez comments on media by remixing it at valdezatron
In this clip, mysteries of the tv show Lost reveal themselves in its commercials.

And finally, the show that can't be stopped, Ze Frank - The Show.

Nice boop boop boop. Thanks for featuring Valdezatron Industries. The ship date on the Garfieldilizer is now June 20th, we had a minor setback with the wine cell.

Hello my friend. Thank you very much to put my video in your vlog.
It's not difficult to say my name. You can say as "hee-naw-do". The last name was correct.
I will share your vlog with all my friends.
Thank you very much,
Rynaldo

Hi my bro. Many friends of mine are commenting about your vlog. They are enjoying.
I have another site: www.youtube.com/user/rynaldopapoy, with videoclips directed by myself. The music is mine too.
Peace!

I remember seeing that fake news real news thing last month or so... I was really upset. Rocketboom has more interesting things to say than most regular news programs, but it's certainly not fake, it's just lower-fi.
God... I LOVE Valdezatron... It's the only arty vlog that I truly adore!
