The Carol and Steve Show: Driving The 101

In this episode Carol and Steve are in Southern Californina driving back to Santa Barbara from Los Olivos after a day of wine tasting. I didn't drink any Merlot.

In California all the freeways are called 'The' Something, like The 101 or The 405. Not in Boston. In Boston the highways are called routes. So we have Route 128 and Route 1. You'd never hear anyone says they are taking The 128 anywhere. So funny.

Carol and Steve Show: Carol's Birthday Balloon Ride

I took Carol for a Balloon Ride over Boston Common on a Aeroballoon. The last day for rides this year is September 12th.

They gave us a free ride because last year Chris Prior from Aeroballon say my video online. I had the Nokia N93 camera I'm testing out on me, so I shot some more video. Nice shots from up high in a balloon.

The Carol and Steve Show: Wasted Days

The Carol and Steve Show: Wasted Days featuring Johnny Guitar by The Nice Boys.

This music video for The Nice Boys was shot entirely with a Nokia N93 and edited in Final Cut Pro.

While browsing through IODA PROMONET for a song to use on a new Carol and Steve show I came across The Nice Boys.

I like this song by them, Johnny Guitar.

It turns out that the lead singer, Terry Six, used to be in an old favorite band of mine, The Exploding Hearts.

"On July 20th, 2003 the band was in an automotive accident which claimed the lives of three members." Really really sad.

Our guidebook says that the tourist maps are out of date and that you can take a rental car on the North side of Maui. It's hard to say if we were in that area, but we did see rocks in the middle of the road that had recently fallen there from the cliffs above. Yikes.

The water was a lot warmer than the water in Maine or Cape Cod. Nice waves too!

Fleming Beach Park has lots of parking, rest rooms and showers.
