A house in Boston, known as The Castle, had a Christmas display featuring 100,000 lights this year.
Carol and Steve went over to check it out. Carol sat in the car while Steve took movies. Enjoy!
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyful Festivus and Happy New Year!

City dwellers Carol and Steve choose not to get a fresh tree for Christmas this year, and instead, decorate a tabletop metal tree.
Have fun watching them remember past vacations while hanging the ornaments.
This video captures a fleeting moment that's real.

Technical Notes:
For this video I used a GL/2, with a Tota light, plus a wireless lav mic on Carol and a shotgun mic on me.
What I think makes this a nice video blog post, in addition to the content, is the high quality of video, combined with the clear audio, PLUS the sweet music bed.
These are the settings that my encoding and hosting service, vblogcentral.com uses for my video podcasts:
Video: MPEG-4, 500 kbits/sec, 15fps, 320x240
Audio: MPEG-4/AAC-LC, 128 kbits/sec

In this episode, Steve comes home late Sunday from a trip to Florida, so Carol and Steve go for a walk in the snow.
While Steve was away, Boston was hit by a surprise blizzard and thundersnow. It always snows when Steve is away.
During the walk the discussion turns to vlogging and Steve talks about how vlogs are not trying to be TV shows, they are just capuring fleeting moments of people's lives, that they may want to share with family and friends. It doesn't have to be a big blockbuster for everybody.

This week we're back in the kitchen, where the Carol and Steve show began. Carol and I discuss the future of the show, why coffee is hotter than pasta and whether or not everything goes on the web.

This week we take a break and show you a video we shot last year, before we started doing the weekly Carol and Steve Show episodes.
Please excuse the lag between the audio and video in the intro. It was recorded direct to disk via QuickTime Pro and my old Powerbook couldn't quite keep up. Just think of it as looking at an old time movie. Works for me!
Steve says, "It's too early to define it," which refers to Michael Verdi's Vlog Anarchy.
This week Carol and Steve continue their visit California's Wine Country.
