iPhone Add On for Live Streaming Video
Lots of people are interested in streaming live video using the iPhone. I rigged up this add on that works pretty well. :-)
Formats available: YouTube, Quicktime (.mov), MP3 Audio (.mp3), Flash Video (.flv), MPEG-4 Video (.m4v)

Hah! I was about to pick up the phone to Bhaskar (my boss) and say how cool it was that Steve got his hands on our iPhone client already...

Yep, that's a great add-on! Until, of course, the N95 gets busted or bricked by a firmware update, and then Nokia USA will leave you stranded up to 30 days or more waiting to get it serviced. Then it's not such a great add-on. But at least with the iPhone I can walk in to an Apple or AT&T store and get it replaced.
But yeah, the lack of video on the iPhone is a bummer. There are some hacks for recording video, not for live streaming. But then again, the new iPhone costs only about $200. Nokia N95 still hovering around $600.

Hi Amy,
I was just in Canada for a week and N95's were all over the place. Weird.
At the mall. On billboards... I hope they get distributed like that in the US soon... then supported... by store locations...
I'm testing the N82 right now and like it a lot. Maybe better than the N95. The picture taking on it is so much faster, and the flash is better.... I have a post to write about the differences between it and the N95, iPhone and Nokia D80...
When I get a sec I'll update my N95 firmware on my wife's computer... It's such a pain...

Hi, Steve
Yeah, I heard they're getting distributed big-time in Canada. In the US, I think it's all the wrangling with the carriers that's holding them up. We're the third world for mobile, for sure.
Of course, what I'd like to know is if all that widespread distribution in Canada also translates to faster and more local service/replacement. These are expensive, sensitive devices. Things WILL go wrong, and having to wait up to a month to get your phone back is unacceptable. Until they lick that, they won't be getting my business.
